We always love the excitement of a new season and all the possible new outifits it brings. Just by adding a few new pieces – be it scarves, introducing a new colour to your capsule, a new coat or pair of boots, your whole wardrobe can be refreshed and your look regenerated. As you know, we firmly believe every woman can look and feel fabulous, regardless of age or size. Look YOUR best by learning what suits YOU and keep your look updated with a nod to the current trends. You can easily update existing wardrobe favourites by changing what you team them with to keep your look current. To help you choose wisely – here is our pick of this season’s top trends and how YOU can embrace them right now ………
FLOATY FLORALS -The Catwalk and High Street (and of course Captain Tortue) are full of floral prints. From blouses to floaty frocks – with frill sleeve and collar detail – the feminine look is in. These often have a darker background for Autumn but look fab right now teamed with white trousers. This feminine style can be made to look more tailored by adding sharp trousers or a jacket or look more natural by adding a cardi or layering up with a knit.
TWEED WITH A TWIST – Tweed in all it’s forms is a massive trend this season. We see it in trousers, dresses, skirts and scarves. This classic style has been brought bang up to date by the addition of fringing, detailing and colour as well as edgy cuts – think slim fitting trousers and asymmetric skirts.
LOVE LAYERING – We are big fans of this trend as it is brilliant for changing your look by mixing your capsule wardrobe colours. This season its all about layering different fabrics and lengths – a cosy knit over a floaty dress, a floral blouse teamed with a chunky jumper. Perfect for the Scottish climate!
BLOCKS OF BRILLIANT COLOUR – We were delighted to see so much colour on the catwalk – especially the return of some fab tones we haven’t seen for a while – Vibrant Violet and Plums – these can be added to neutrals or mixed with shades of ochre, scarlet or teal!
KNITTY GRITTY – It’s time to get your needles out or if (like us) you are not that handy, then we can help :). Knitwear is a huge trend this season – from cardis to jumpers to coatigans, these are essential wardrobe staples to layer, add colour and bring your look bang up to date.
